Financial Management: Basic

Overview:
In this course, students learn to budget and make sound financial decisions by analyzing financial statements, setting objectives, and monitoring performance.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Define accounting, its need, and the key accounting terms
- Identify phases of the accounting cycle and types of accounting records and analyze and post transactions, prepare a Trial Balance and identify financial statements created from the Trial Balance
- Identify, create and interpret an Income Statement
- Identify and prepare a Balance Sheet and use it to calculate the liquidity and the debt-to-total-assets ratio
- Identify and prepare a Cash Flow Statement and a Statement of Stockholders' Equity
- Identify and practice budgeting by analyzing financial statements, setting objectives, and monitoring performance
