Flash CS4 - Level 1

Course Length: 2 Days

Overview:
In this course, students will create Flash-based movies that contain graphics, text, sounds, and animations.

Prerequisites:
Windows XP - Level 1
Windows XP - Level 2
Basic HTML knowledge
Basic graphic knowledge
Or equivalent knowledge

Lesson 1: Program Overview

• Navigate the Flash Window
• Explore the Tools Panel and the Timeline
• Review a finished sample

Lesson 2: Drawing Tools and Simple Animation

• Create Lines, Rectangles and Ovals
• Use Fills & Strokes
• Explore Gradient Fills
• Change Stroke Properties
• Create curves
• Use the Text tool

Lesson 3: Work with Text

• Create and Work with Static Text
• Format Text
• Manipulate and Animate text

Lesson 4: Flash Layers, Graphics & Imported Graphics

• Manipulate Flash Objects
• Create Layers
• Import Graphics
• Import Photoshop Files
• Use Bitmap Fills
• Create Animation with Bitmap Frames
• Import Illustrator Files

Lesson 5: Explore Simple Shape and Motion Tweens

• Create Shape tween with a single Shape
• Create Shape tweens with Multiple Shapes
• Create a Motion Tween.
• Understand Motion/Shape tween capabilities and Limitations.
• Create Tweens on multiple layers

Lesson 6: Creating and Editing Symbols

• Create a Graphic Symbol and add a Tween
• Create a Button Symbol and use simple ActionScript
• Explore Symbol management

Lesson 7: Advanced Animation (Motion Tweens)

• Change Animation Duration and Timing
• Add Frames, Add and Move Keyframes
